FAQ
Questions about the Lahbab safari
Everything guests usually ask before booking. Can’t find your answer? Just ask us.
Where is Lahbab desert and how far is it from Dubai?
Lahbab desert lies just off the Dubai – Hatta Road, roughly 45–60 minutes by car from central Dubai depending on your pickup point. It is famous for its tall, deep red-orange sand dunes — which is why it is often called the "Red Dunes".
Why are the Lahbab dunes red?
The sand in Lahbab has a high iron-oxide content, which gives it a rich red-orange colour. It looks especially dramatic in the late afternoon, which is why the evening desert safari in Lahbab is the most popular choice.
What is included in the evening desert safari Lahbab package?
Hotel pickup and drop-off in a 4x4, 30–40 minutes of dune bashing, a sunset photo stop, camel ride, sandboarding, henna, Arabic coffee and dates, a live Tanoura and fire show, a BBQ buffet dinner with vegetarian options, and unlimited water, soft drinks, tea and coffee.
How much does a desert safari in Lahbab cost?
Our Desert Safari Lahbab prices start from AED 40 per person when you drive your own car to our camp, AED 65 per adult for the morning safari and AED 75 for the evening safari with hotel pickup and BBQ dinner. Children aged 3–11 years pay less on pickup tours and children under 3 go free. A private 4x4 for up to 6 guests starts at AED 649.
What is the best time for a desert safari?
October to April is the most comfortable season, with warm days and cool evenings. The evening safari is the favourite all year round because of the sunset over the red dunes. In summer, the morning safari is a good lower-cost option.
Is dune bashing safe for kids, elderly guests or pregnant women?
Children aged 3+ are welcome and ride with seatbelts in the 4x4. Dune bashing is not recommended for pregnant women, infants, or guests with back, neck or heart conditions — just tell us when booking and your driver will take a smooth route straight to the camp so you can still enjoy everything else.
Do you offer hotel pickup?
Yes. Pickup and drop-off are included from hotels and residences across Dubai, including Dubai Marina & JBR, Downtown & Business Bay, Deira & Bur Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, Al Barsha & JLT. Pickups from Sharjah and Ajman are also available — just share your location on WhatsApp. Prefer to drive? The Own Car Desert Safari (AED 40) has no pickup — you meet us at our Lahbab camp.
How do I book and pay?

Can I cancel or change my booking?
Yes. You can cancel or change your date for free up to 24 hours before your pickup time. Just send us a message on WhatsApp.
What should I wear and bring?
Light, comfortable clothes, sunglasses, sunscreen and closed shoes or sandals. Winter evenings in the desert can be cool, so bring a light jacket from December to February. Don’t forget your camera for the sunset!
Do you also offer Dubai city tours or a dhow cruise?
